Kijiji offers free saved-search notifications. Start there if a daily update meets your needs. JDMarket adds scheduled checks, model budgets and configurable matching rules for Canadian accounts, with Telegram or native push after a match is detected. This guide explains how to set up either option and what each can establish.
Start with Kijiji’s free saved search
Search for the item, select the category and location, then apply your price and other filters. On the web, use the notification button on the results page; Kijiji documents daily matching-listing emails. In its app, save the search with the alert icon and choose Daily or Weekly notifications. When a separate scheduled watch can help
Consider JDMarket if you need configurable model budgets, plain-language requirements or more frequent scheduled checks. Basic is US$30/month with two five-minute and eight ten-minute watches; Pro is US$45 with two one-minute and eight five-minute watches; Premium is US$80 with ten one-minute watches. Daily listing-check allowances, marketplace availability, processing and notification settings still apply. We have not measured an end-to-end speed advantage over Kijiji’s own alerts.
Set the country, area and currency correctly
Kijiji is available in JDMarket for Canadian accounts. Choose the Canadian city and inspect the resolved marketplace area before saving. The service maps supported cities to its Kijiji location catalogue; coverage does not mean that every listing is retrieved. JDMarket web subscriptions are quoted in USD, while a Canadian listing budget is typically CAD. Keep the subscription price and the item budget separate.
Use a budget and a clear missing-details policy
For an example used-phone search, specify the model, maximum item price and must-have condition. A model allowance can widen a budget, but the overall maximum still caps it. Require all details if an omitted must-have should exclude a listing; allow missing details if you are willing to ask the seller. Seller claims and an AI match are not independent verification of condition, authenticity or ownership.
Treat bumped and reposted listings carefully
Kijiji explains that a Bump Up refreshes an ad’s posting date. JDMarket uses available original-date and listing-identity information to reduce stale or repeated alerts. That is not a guarantee against every repost: a newly created ad or missing source date can limit what the service can establish. Inspect the original listing before contacting a seller.
Verify the watch before relying on it
Save and reopen the watch to check its marketplace, city, budgets, requirements and active hours. Confirm the intended notification channel is connected. Review whether the first results fit your purchase and adjust one rule at a time. Are Kijiji search alerts free?
Kijiji’s native saved-search notifications are free. JDMarket is a separate paid service; the web Basic plan has a three-day card-required trial that renews unless cancelled.
Does a one-minute watch mean an alert arrives one minute after posting?
No. It is a configured check interval. Source visibility, processing, matching, active hours, usage limits and notification delivery affect the result.
Can a matching score prove a listing is safe?
No. A match evaluates available listing information against your rules. Confirm the seller, condition and transaction details yourself.
